Jack Wills will close its Cardiff store in April. The branch in The Hayes announced the closure next month in a window notice.
UK retailers have suffered in recent years as online shopping has become more popular with shoppers. Since the beginning of December, five Jack Wills stores in the UK have closed.
The company has closed stores in Canterbury, Newbury, Nottingham, Aberdeen and Halifax in recent months, with Cardiff taking another loss. The British clothing brand was founded in 1999 in Salcombe by Peter Williams and Robert Shaw. In 2019, the brand joined the Frasers Group, which also owns brands such as Sports Direct and House of Fraser.
Jack Wills has been part of the St David’s Shopping Center since 2012. The nearest store in Cardiff is 20 miles away in Bridgend. Get the latest news from Cardiff straight to your inbox by signing up for our daily newsletter.
