A single fixed-price ticket that allows you to use national public transport for 49 euros per month from 1 May. Advance sales are expected to begin on Monday. Evelyn Palla, head of regional transport at Germany’s national rail service Deutsche Bahn, is promoting the new monthly ticket, which she says will “finally put an end to the forest” of overlapping fare structures in local transport in the government’s plans.

The Bundesrat, the upper house of the German parliament, gave its final approval to the measure, paving the way for transport agencies to start selling passes. Dubbed the “Deutschlandticket”, the pass will allow unrestricted use of regional trains and local transport across the country.
The Deutschland-Ticket is the evolution of the 9 euro ticket offered as a promotion in the summer of 2022. 9 euro ticket, electricity, food, heating and transport.

Following the huge success of the 9 Euro ticket and its positive impact on emissions, the Deutschland-Ticket will be offered as a permanent offer to purchase season tickets. The German government, in concert with the federal government, hopes that more and more citizens will abandon the car to travel on public transport even outside their “Country” of residence.
