Russian military blogger dies in cafe explosion on ‘patriotic night’

A prominent Russian military blogger, St. He died in an explosion in a cafe in St. Petersburg. 40-year-old Vladlen Tatarski. According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, 16 people were injured.

According to unconfirmed reports, a “patriotic night” was held in the cafe. It is said that a woman gave Tatarski a figurine and then exploded. As far as is known, no one took responsibility.

Tatarski, whose real name is Maxim Fomin, had over 560,000 followers on Telegram and was one of the top military influencers. He was in favor of harsh repression against Ukraine. He had previously spoken in favor of “the bombing of Kiev and the launching of missiles across the country”.

Last September, Tatarsky attended a ceremony declaring the four Ukrainian provinces to be Russian territory.

According to Russian media, the cafe where the explosion took place today belonged to Yevgeny Prigozhin. He is the founder of the Russian mercenary army Wagner, who fought for Russia in Ukraine.

Had Tatarsky been the target of the explosion, it would have been the second attack on Russian soil against a person linked to the war in Ukraine. Last August, 30-year-old Darya Dugina was killed in a car bomb attack. Dugina was the daughter of ultranationalist Russian political thinker Aleksandr Dugin.
