Two men have been arrested on suspicion of rape following a serious sexual assault in Cardiff. The men, aged 20 and 19, were released on bail after closing the Cardiff city center tube on Saturday 1 April.

In the early hours of Saturday 1st April, South Wales Police received reports that a woman had been seriously sexually assaulted. The tube in Cardiff city center was closed after the incident.

In a statement on Monday afternoon, South Wales Police said: “Officers investigating a serious sexual assault reported in the early hours of Saturday morning in Cardiff city center have arrested two men on suspicion of rape. , a 20-year-old from Bridgend and a 19-year-old from Cardiff, are on bail pending further investigation. We are not looking for anyone in connection with this investigation.”
