Later this month, the team behind Cardiff’s Farmers Markets will launch a new street food and craft venture in Riverside. Market goers can expect wood-fired pizza, artisanal gyoza, Brazilian street food and more from local vendors on the April 26 launch date.
The night market will be held every fourth Wednesday of the month during the summer, after a successful trial last year. The street food pop-up will take place on Fitzhamon Quay, opposite Principality Stadium, in the same location as the weekly Riverside Market.
The new market is run by the same team behind all of Cardiff’s best-loved farmers’ markets, with stalls in Riverside, Roath and Rivne from Friday to Sunday. However, the new market will take place in the middle of the week. The booths will be open from 5pm to 8pm so people can eat and eat after work.
Street food vendors will be flanked by craft stalls selling things like home fragrances. The performance will feature musical performances by the Cardiff Singers and Chapter Singers.
The composition of traders on the first date of April includes:
· sprinkled with flour – Neapolitan pizza baked in a wood-fired oven
· Tokyo nights – Handcrafted Yakiori and Gyoza
· the real thing – Authentic Jamaican street food
· tenkaichi – Sushi and noodles
· brazilian espresso – Authentic Brazilian street food
· Kimi’s Catering – Authentic Indian cuisine
· roti hut – Roti e Canai Malaysian style
· The Teeny Tiny Pancake Co. – Inspired by Poffertjes from Holland
· Cardiff Mass and Co. – Donuts, cookies and premium coffee
· Pure soy to melt – Ecological and handmade perfumes for the home
