A man was seriously injured after a car skidded across the road and crashed near Glynnet. South Wales Police have confirmed they have been called to a single vehicle accident on the Merthyr Road on the evening of Tuesday 4th April. The road, also known as Rhigos Road, was closed overnight.

Two men from Aberdare were in the car, a white Fiat 500, and both were taken to hospital by ambulance following the accident. The 21-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries, the 20-year-old driver had minor injuries.”

A South Wales Police spokesman said: “Shortly before 8.30pm, police were called to a single vehicle collision on Merthyr Road in Glynneath. A white Fiat 500 pulled off the track. The two passengers, both men from Aberdare, were taken away by ambulance. for Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil. The 21-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries, while the 20-year-old driver suffered minor injuries.
