I’m close to losing my job because I miss days of work and I’m constantly nervous. This incident changed my life and will affect me for the rest of my life.”
As a mitigation, David Elias KC said his client did not admit he was drunk, but accepted that his behavior was “out of character” but that he “came to the aid” of his father. According to him, the defendant maintained a stable relationship and earned well.
Engraver Carl Harrison sentenced Hathaway to 10 months in prison, suspended for two years. He was ordered to carry out a 15-day rehabilitation activity and pay compensation to Mr. Gray from £500.
