Three people were taken to hospital and police say more than 1,000 people attended the “unlicensed music event”. The police were called at 11:40 pm, and by Sunday lunch hundreds of people were still at the scene.
Assistant Chief of Police Mark Travis said: “Initial reports suggest that over 1,000 people and 70 vehicles were present. Several officers were sent. We ask people to safely leave the area and stay away from the event.”
Witnesses described semi-conscious bodies lying on the road. The Welsh Ambulance Service responded to calls from the scene. Currently, three people have been taken to the hospital, none of them were seriously injured.
The road to the property was closed and around 300 cars were parked on Water Street, which leads to the Kenfig Industrial Estate.
Workers who blocked the road said they were called in the morning to block the road while police dealt with the illegal rave.
Members of the public were asked to avoid the area and not walk or drive. Roads are closed and police have ordered people to leave the area.
