Ukraine has already changed some of its military plans due to leaks from the online publication of secret US military documents. CNN reports this, citing a source close to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Some texts highlight weaknesses in the Ukrainian defense at a critical and delicate moment in the war, that is, when the forces were preparing to launch a counter-offensive against the Russians. The Pentagon has launched an “interagency effort” to assess the impact of the leak, spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said.
“The Department of Defense continues to review and assess the validity of photographed documents circulating on social media sites that appear to contain sensitive and highly classified material,” Singh said in a statement quoted by CNN. “An interagency effort was launched, focused on assessing the impact that these photographed documents could have on the national security of the United States and our allies and partners.” Singh added that US officials had spoken with allies and partners over the weekend about the leak and had informed relevant “congressional committees”.
Meanwhile, the bombings continued through the night and into Orthodox Palm Sunday. Russian forces attacked two communities in Kherson oblast, air raid sirens also sounded in Dnipro, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia. Russian troops are also demolishing Mariupol’s central railway station, local media reported, presumably to build a major logistical hub.
