The union leader was approached by armed individuals traveling on motorcycles who apparently followed him from a bank where he withdrew a large sum of money to the Magisterium offices.
According to the president of Adeba, he went to a bank in the center of the city to withdraw money from the Association to be used for purchases for the May 1 celebration, the date when the teachers who are part of the magisterium.
After withdrawing the money at Carrera 35 with Calle 43 at the door of said entity, he was picked up by his secretary, who traveled in a vehicle and went to the office of the association, located at Calle 44 with Carrera 43. When they arrived at the scene they were intercepted by four armed individuals traveling on two motorcycles, who approached the manager, pointed their guns at him and told him to hand over the money he had just withdrawn.
“They tell me to hand over the backpack, and another yells at him, he has it on his waistband,” said the victim. No one else knew he was going to make the withdrawal except his secretary and the bank staff who assisted him. .
Likewise, he claimed that he did not request police escort because since they would pick him up by car and motor traffic is prohibited in that sector, he did not feel it appropriate to ask for support from the uniformed officers, believing that he was safe in that area.
