Welsh farmer and presenter Gareth Wyn Jones was caught in “brutal” weather in Eire when his coat froze in a blizzard. Cold, windy weather hit North Wales as the newly named Storm Noah made landfall in the UK.

Llanfairfechan farmer Conwy, who presents BBC One’s The Family Farm, told his 58,000 followers: “Shit, time has changed fast. I hope they find the missing woman in Eriri because she’s brutal here now.”

His comments were in reference to Ausra Plungien, who disappeared with her dog in the national park on Tuesday. A rescue helicopter searched Eriri on Wednesday morning and people were urged to contact the police if they had any information.

Mr. Jones filmed himself fighting the wind and snow, his coat visibly frozen, and said: “Wow, it’s unbelievable how quickly the weather changes and I just got caught in this blizzard. You will have to look for cover for five minutes.

He added: “A woman has gone missing in Eriri, Snowdonia”, expressing hope that she has been found safe. Portions of video of her, posted on Wednesday morning, were inaudible due to high winds.

Storm Noah caused significant disruption in Wales, closing the M4 Briton Ferry Bridge and M48 Severn Bridge and bringing snow and rain to North Wales. Meteo France called it a storm and the Met Office did the same.

In the United Kingdom, gusts of up to 70 km/h are expected, mainly in coastal areas of Wales and southwest England. You can follow storm news on our blog.
