Ukraine, Zelensky calls for more missiles and fighter jets. “Then let’s liberate Crimea”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asks for more. After the latest Russian attacks on civilians too, Kiev is voicing its demands to Western countries. “Air defense, a modern air force, without which effective air defense is impossible, artillery, armored vehicles. All this is necessary to ensure the security of our cities, villages, both inland and at the front,” Zelensky said after the heavy Russian attacks that claimed at least 23 casualties, including 4 children, in Uman and the one in the Dnipropetrovsk region, in which a mother and her 3-year-old daughter were killed.

Defense and counter-offensive, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine are planning to liberate the territories occupied by Russia. This also includes the “liberation of Crimea”, annexed by Russia in 2014, Ukraine’s president said in an interview with Finnish public broadcaster Yle. One of the objectives of this counter-offensive, for which the Kiev Defense Minister said yesterday that the Ukrainian military is almost ready, is precisely to regain control of the Black Sea peninsula; but, he added, support from Western allies is increasingly needed for success. According to Zelensky, Russian troops lose motivation every day and at the same time fear the consequences of their withdrawal.
