The reconquest of Crimea is increasingly at the top of Ukraine’s goals. President Volodymyr Zelensky explained today that the preparation of the counter-offensive is in the final stages and foresees the liberation of the Crimean peninsula unilaterally annexed by Russia years ago. A drone attacked an oil depot in Sevastopol causing a fire.
The burning warehouse is located in the port that is the base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet on the Crimean peninsula, whose annexation to the Federation dates back to 2014. “According to preliminary data, the fire was caused by the impact of a drone » ” said Mikhail Razvozhaev , governor of Sevastopol. The fire, which spreads over an area of almost a thousand square meters, has already been extinguished by the emergency services. There were no injuries. The attack follows similar episodes and for this reason the military parade on May 9 has been suspended. In recent days, the Federal Security Service said it had prevented a bomb attack on the naval hospital in the peninsula’s capital, Simferopol.
“Attention” on Crimea provokes the angry reaction of the deputy head of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, former president of the Federation. The “mass destruction” of Ukraine’s “Nazi regime” is “the only answer” to Kiev’s counter-offensive, thundered in a Telegram post. For Medvedev, it is necessary to inflict the “maximum military defeat on the Armed Forces of Ukraine” and “the definitive overthrow of the Nazi regime in Kiev with its complete demilitarization in the entire territory of the former Ukraine”. Medvedev also calls for “punitive acts against key figures of the Nazi regime, regardless of their location and without time limits”.
