Jaime Saade captured in Alagoas State, Brazil

On the morning of this Monday, May 1, the Federal Police, together with the Intelligence Service of the Military Police of Minas Gerais (PMMG), succeeded in capturing Jaime Saade Cormane, convicted of the sexual abuse and murder of Nancy Mariana Mestre Vargas took place in Barranquilla in January 1994.

According to the Brazilian authorities, the man was found in a home in the municipality of Marecha Deodoro, in the state of Alagoas. Apparently, at the time of the operation, Saade Cormane was trying to run to escape the agents; however, he was surrounded and subsequently arrested.

The detainee was transferred to the regional superintendency of the federal police in Alagoas, from where he will depart to be transferred to Minas Gerais by PMMG plane.

It should be noted that Saade’s arrest comes after the Brazilian Supreme Court, after a lengthy discussion, approved the extradition of the Colombian, who was sentenced in Colombia to pay 24 years in prison for the crime

In the 1996 conviction of Saade Cormane by the 11th Circuit Court of Barranquillain presenting his defense, he tries to state that “there could probably have been a third person in the room” where the crime took place.

It should be remembered that the events in which the 18-year-old girl was injured took place in a house at 49C Carrera with Calle 85, owned by the Saade Cormane family. Jaime, who was 31 years old at the time, had arrived there with Nancy after going to other entertainment venues at the time.
