“We didn’t know if he was in trouble because we saw him very little”

Keiner Mosalve, 28, was shot dead while in a pool hall in the Mequejo neighborhood, south of Barranquilla, on the night of Monday, May 1.

At the legal medicine facilities, the relatives of the deceased awaited the delivery of his body today to give him a Christian burial. Sadness and pain were inevitable on their faces. They do not arise from amazement at the way in which a stranger ended his life.

According to what was discussed with Leoved Monsalve Mattos, the father of the victim, Keiner was a man with no criminal record, the third of three brothers and who had many dreams to fulfill.

“He didn’t mess with anyone, he was just dedicated to the job, he wanted to help his three kids get ahead. I was planning to make a galley nearby,” said the father.

His relatives found out about Monsalve’s death through a phone call around 8 p.m.: “they called me to tell me that they had fired several shots at him and that they had taken him to Paso la Manga, but that he had arrived. No vital importance,’ the man explained.

Likewise, their relatives ask the authorities to carry out the relevant investigations and they can ascertain the details of the murder and find the arrest of the person or persons responsible.
