Brian Simpson, a prosecutor, said that in March of this year police assisted council business standards officers with a search warrant on the defendant’s property as part of a local council investigation into a dog-breeding business. Police seized Bradnum’s phone, he said, but the defendant refused to divulge his PIN, but officers were able to access the device and found messages showing he had been involved in the buying and selling of cocaine in recent months, including discussions about deliveries. and collections. court heard a complaint relating to the exchange of cocaine for oral sex. The prosecutor said police also discovered that Bradnum, 28, had posted messages on Instagram about a “transplant” wanting to earn “good money” demanding that he or she “not do marijuana,” and officers seized several messages in which people offered to sell. drugs for him.

A search of the property revealed £960 in cash along with a scale and officers also found another phone hidden in rubbish bags; again, the defendant refused to reveal the PIN, but this time the officers were unable to crack the code. During an interview, Bradnum told police he sold marijuana and nitrous oxide, but said the money found on the property came from selling the dog.

Andrew Bradnum, of Lark Place, Penlan, Swansea, earlier pleaded guilty to being involved in the supply of cocaine and possession of criminal property (£960 cash) when he appeared in the dock for sentencing. He has six convictions for 10 offenses, including marijuana production, marijuana possession, possession of Class A drugs, drunkenness and disorderly conduct, and possession of criminal property. The court heard the latest offense of 2017, which involved transferring £40,000 to his bank account.

Bradnum’s Hugh Davies said the defendant had worked as a handyman, furniture fitter and window cleaner before the Covid pandemic, when the job ended. He said his father’s drug use increased after his father’s death and he turned to drug dealers to finance his own addiction. The attorney said that although the defendant advertised the job for him, there was no evidence that he actually hired anyone.

Discounting his one-quarter guilty plea, Judge Hugh Rees sentenced Brandham to 43 months in prison, including 43 months for drug dealing and six months for possession of criminal property, running concurrently. He will serve half of that period in custody before being released on leave to serve the remainder in the community.
