Zaporizhzhia, IAEA red alert: “Russian explosives at nuclear power plant in Ukraine”

Russian troops placed military equipment, weapons and explosives in the turbine department of unit four of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Alarming everyone is the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report: The State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine reported that the IAEA has also received unofficial reports that Russian forces are storing similar materials in other areas of the plant. The Inspectorate emphasizes that any potential release of radioactive substances could have cross-border consequences, in addition to posing a serious threat to the safety of plant personnel and nearby residents.

It is recalled – writes the agency – that, at the end of July 2022, the Russian army had placed heavy military equipment and ammunition, as well as weapons and explosives, in the engine room of unit 1 of the nuclear power plant. In early August 2022, reports were received about the placement of military equipment in the engine room of unit number 2. The war between Russia and Ukraine also threatens with a nuclear disaster.
