King Charles III and Queen Camilla, both with crowns on their heads, looked out from the balcony of Buckingham Palace after the lengthy coronation ceremony, to greet the crowds that had been thronging for them. On the porch with them were several pageboys, including Prince George, as well as two of Camilla’s ladies-in-waiting. Later, William and Kate also appeared on the porch. Absent instead of Harry, who was present at the ceremony alone, while his wife Meghan remained in California with their children Archie, who turns 4 today, and Lilibet Diana.

From the balcony, the royal family watched the Royal Air Force (RAF) aerobatic team perform as it flew over Buckingham Palace. The display was cut short due to rain: the original plan was for more than 60 aircraft from the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force to perform, but the MoD later reported that the flyby would only be formed by the Red Arrows, the Royal Air aerobatic team Force, and by helicopters, for a total of 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
The long party inside Westminster Abbey had moments of great charm, with King Charles III visibly understood in his role and who several times – as several commentators and royal observers noted – betrayed, with his sad look, the thought towards the missing mother on September 8th.
