Amsterdam, 24-year-old Italian drowns in a canal. Yellow on the causes of the fall

A drama that still doesn’t have clear outlines is the one that had a 24-year-old young man from the province of Parma as its protagonist. The young man was in Amsterdam for tourism and drowned in a canal in the Dutch capital. His name was Gabriele Gallani, a native of Neviano, and he was captain of a local football team that plays for Promotion, the Traversetolo Team. According to information from Gazzetta di Parma, the young man was in the Dutch city on vacation with a group of friends. On Friday night, a few hours before the flight back to Italy, it fell into a canal near Piazza Dam for reasons still unclear.

The NL Times website, quoting the Dutch police, explains that the incident would have occurred around half past midnight between Friday and Saturday. The boy was reportedly rescued by divers and later transported by helicopter to the hospital where he died. Investigators have opened an investigation and – it is explained – are looking for witnesses who can provide more information about how the victim ended up in the water.
