Ten people were killed and nine injured as a result of an armed ambush on drivers at an amateur rally called “Cachanillazo” in the town of Ensenada, Baja California, on the US border, Mexico. The budget was announced by local authorities. According to the initial renderings provided, gunmen, getting out of a pickup truck, opened fire on a group of drivers who were standing still by the roadside.

The attack took place on Saturday, May 20. In the videos and images shared on social networks, the vehicles hit by the bullets and the bodies lying next to the vehicles are seen. Baja California has been one of the most violent states in the country for years, led by Tijuana. Authorities point to criminal groups fighting for strategic control of the region to smuggle drugs into the United States, among other things.
