Russia has accused Ukraine of attacking its warship in the Black Sea with three naval drones. This was reported by Moscow Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov, specifying that the ship Ivan Khurs ended up, “involved in missions to ensure the operations of the TurkStream and Blue Stream gas pipelines in the Turkish exclusive economic zone”. All drones have been “destroyed” and the Ivan Khurs continues its assigned mission,” he added.
The attack on the Russian ship Ivan Khurs took place about 140 kilometers northeast of the Bosphorus and Moscow released video of the destruction of Ukrainian naval drones. It is not the first incident involving Russian ships and fighter jets in the Black Sea since the start of the invasion of Ukraine: in March an American military drone crashed after an accident involving a Russian jet, while in April last year the Moskva, flagship of the A Moscow’s fleet in the region sank off Odessa in an onboard explosion, which Kiev claimed was a missile strike.
