Fear and fright in London. A man driving a car crashed into the gates of Downing Street, where the Prime Minister’s residence is located and where Prime Minister Rishi Sunak currently lives with his family. The Metropolitan Police said the man had been arrested on charges of “injury and dangerous driving”, although there were no reports of injuries.
It remains unclear, according to the BBC, whether it was an intentional act: police said they were working to ascertain the causes of the incident and a silver car with an open trunk could be seen in the area. After the incident, the Whitehall area, where the ministries’ offices are located, was cordoned off and cordoned off, but some barriers were later removed. Additionally, Downing Street officials were ordered to remain indoors.
