Venezuelan Gustavo Dudamel resigns as director of the Paris Opera

The Paris Opera indicated that Neef “wants to think for a moment about” who the new music director could be, since this is a role “essential for the projection of the institution”.

For next season he had a new production of, among other things “The Destroying Angel”composed in 2016 by the British Thomas bye and based on Luis Buñuel’s film of the same name, with Calixto Bieito as artistic director.

The Venezuelan classical music star was presented as musical director from the Paris Institute in April 2021, with the aim of transforming it and making it more modern and inclusive, and he started in that position in August of the same year, so that by the end of his journey he will have spent two seasons at the helm.
