Footage captured by the New South Wales State Fire and Rescue Service showed the dramatic fall of one of the building wallsas well as some burned-out vehicles, while the aerial photos released by the local media reported the gigantic fire tongues in a completely destroyed building.
A spokesperson for the New South Wales State Fire and Rescue Service told a press conference in Sydney that the blaze – with smoke billowing from several parts of the city – has been brought under control, although it took several hours to extinguish the flames.
There was also a firefighter “slightly injured” with a burn on the arm as a result of this fire in that building that was apparently empty, the spokesman said in statements broadcast today by Australia’s public broadcaster ABC.
