Details of the murder of a member of the El Bosque LGBTI community are revealed

Five months after the death of Edilberto Orozco Marriaga, which took place in the El Bosque neighborhood of Barranquilla, the Atlantic Department of the Public Prosecutor’s Office managed to arrest and send to prison the alleged perpetrator of the events on Friday, December 9, 2022. .

Due to the death of 45-year-old Orozco Marriaga, the LGBTI+ Caribe Afirmativo collective rejected the attack at the time and called for urgent investigations.

“Today, on International Human Rights Day, Edilberto Orozco Mariaga, a gay man from Barranquilla, was murdered. Colombia is a very unsafe country for LGBTIQ people. We ask @FiscaliaCol to apply a gender approach in the research,” Caribe Afirmativo quivered.
