“Incorporating Kharkiv into the (neighboring) region of Belgorod”. That’s how the governor of Belgorod, Russia, Vyacheslav Gladkov, answered the question “what more can be done to protect the region, especially the districts along the border” with Ukraine. It was Francis Scarr, a BBC Monitoring journalist, who published on Twitter a few seconds of statements by the governor of Belgorod who, on Russian TV, seem right to respond to the desire to annex the Ukrainian region of Kharkiv, on the border between nations.
And when asked if he believes it is possible to see such a solution, after a moment of silence, Gladkov replied that, in his opinion, it is “the best way to solve the problems of bombing in the Belgorod region”. Also this morning, the governor accused Kiev forces of having attacked some areas on the border between Russia and Ukraine, denouncing at least four people injured. Indeed, in recent weeks, Ukrainian attacks on the Russian city have intensified.
