They dismantle the gang ‘Los Arlequines’, which is dedicated to drug trafficking

In the past few hours, six people have been apprehended through search and search procedures, during an operation conducted by the Barranquilla Metropolitan Police in the San Francisco neighborhood north of Barranquilla.

According to the armed institution, the detainees are part of the so-called criminal gang ‘The Harlequins’ and they shall be prosecuted for the crimes of conspiracy to commit a crime, trafficking, manufacture or possession of narcotics and illegal appropriation of furniture and property.

The captured people were identified by authorities as Lizeth Patricia Ferrer Mendoza40 years old; Manuel Ortega Brochero59 years old, aka ‘el viejo’, who is reporting illegal possession of weapons, six for possession of narcotics and one for actual insult; Mary Luz Ferrer Mendoza; Juan Diego Ortega19 years old, aka ‘Fefe’ and making a record for drug trafficking; Carlos Julio Ortega Ferrer20 years old and Luis Carlos Cerpa Gutierrez40 years old, aka ‘the cat’ who reports drug trafficking.

During the proceedings, the uniformed officers seized 90 grams of marijuana, 95 grams of cocaine base, 21 pills of controlled medication (Clonazepan), a pistol-type traumatic firearm, and 39,000 pesos in bills of various denominations and a gramera.

According to authorities, these people used the seized property to boost drug trafficking in part of the northern sector of the city of Barranquilla in the San Francisco, La Concepción and El Bolsillo neighborhoods.

The detained persons were made available to the competent authorities.
