In Spain, the Civil Guards rescued three hikers who were attacked by a wild goat in the Alpujarra mountains just south of Granada in the south of the country. Worst of all, a 64-year-old Dutch tourist found himself on a cliff in an attempt to escape from the escaped animal, fell nearly twenty meters and was stranded there for hours before being rescued.
The same goat was to attack two Belgian hikers, who were spotted by a helicopter belonging to the Guardia Civil rescue group: one of the two was found unconscious with wounds all over his body. The other hiker also had some injuries, possibly from a fall, but was conscious. Shortly after, the 64-year-old Dutch woman was also located: due to her condition and night time, the rescuers were not able to transport her to the hospital by air ambulance immediately. The woman was then taken to a shelter and, after spending the night there, was transferred safely to the hospital in Granada. The 64-year-old suffered from hypothermia and broke both of his wrists along with various injuries.
