Ukraine dam, direct order from Putin: the water level sign

The order to blow up the Kakhovka dam came directly from Russian President Vladimir Putin. And the water level in the basin was purposefully raised “to cause more damage”. Pointing the finger at the Russians is Oleksii Danilov, head of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council. “Russian terrorists blew up the dam, using explosives they had planted some time ago, in September or October last year,” Danilov told Radio Svoboda. It was “the Kremlin, more precisely Putin’s office, who ordered this terrorist act”.

According to the official in Kiev, Moscow forces purposely raised the water level in the reservoir of the dam, to maximize the damage, in an operation to stop the Ukrainian counter-offensive. «They are waiting for a counter-offensive, they raised the water to the highest possible level. It was 18.6 meters high and they raised it to over 19. They deliberately accumulated water so that the explosion could do more damage,” the complaint said. The dam was occupied by the Russians on February 24, 2022, the first day of the invasion of Ukraine.
