Another shocking attack in France. A man attacked several people, including children, with a knife in a park near Lake Annecy in France’s Haute-Savoie region in the Alps. The man was arrested by the police, who said there were 9 injured (including the attacker), including 8 children, 2 of them seriously. The detainee is a Syrian asylum seeker, a fact that was clear from the identity card that was found on him: his name is Abdalmasih and he was born in January 1991. According to Antoine Armand, a local deputy, the children were attacked in a playground near the lake of the city in the French Alps, defining the attack as “abominable”. The tragedy occurred around 9:45 am and according to Le Parisien the Syrian is unknown in the police and intelligence files and obtained refugee status in Sweden with a decision that dates back to April 26. Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne and Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin will visit Annecy during the day, with President Emmanuel Macron constantly following developments on the matter.
