3-year-old drives a golf cart: he crushed and killed a 7-year-old boy

A 3-year-old boy driving a golf cart hit and killed another 7-year-old on Monday afternoon in Fort Myers, Florida, USA.

The accident occurred on Monday at noon on a private residential road, when the vehicle driven by the little boy, who was turning the bend, went off the road and hit the other boy in front of his garden. The 7-year-old boy, who was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, later died. The 3-year-old boy was not injured. It is not known whether the puppies are related or if the 3-year-old is under parental care. Cops said they were investigating how the boy got behind the wheel of the golf cart.

The phenomenon of children driving golf carts is so common in Florida that Governor Ron DeSantis has had to set new limits. Based on a law enacted In May, golf cart drivers must be 15 years old with a student license or 16 years old with a driver’s license. The law comes into effect on 1 October. The law previously allowed anyone aged 14 and over to drive a golf cart.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, more than 6,500 children are injured by golf carts each year across the United States. More than half of the injured are children under the age of 12.

Children under the age of eighteen are not allowed to use a golf cart on golf courses in Italy. The driver must follow the operating instructions placed on the vehicles, paying attention to other players, drive at a moderate speed and avoid dangerous maneuvers. You don’t need a license. On the other hand, to get around on public roads, you need golf carts approved for road traffic, with license plates and insured: then you also need a B license.
