UNITED STATES. There was a proposal that taxpayers would fund “reparations” for black residents

The administration of New York Mayor Eric Adams is proposing to pay “reparations” of taxpayers’ money to black residents. It’s about “racial justice.”

The New York City Department of Health released a report entitled “Analysis of the Racial Wealth Gap and Its Implications for Health Equity.”

“Reparations” for black people

The document contained a proposal already formulated by the mayor of New York – to pay “reparations” to black minorities with government money.

The official stated goal is to eliminate the wealth inequality between white and black residents. Taxpayers’ money would be paid to the latter for their ancestors’ past harm from slavery.

“A compensation program, such as cash paid by the federal government to the black descendants of enslaved people, would close the wealth gap between blacks and whites and thus promote racial equality, if the payment amounts set by the program were based on the average wealth difference between blacks and whites,” it read.

This is supported by the mayor of New York

Mayor Eric Adams proposed such a mechanism last year. According to him, the company would pay wages, which in the past had to be based on the work of slaves.

– We need to focus on a few companies and businesses whose wealth was based on slavery. This has been long overdue and is something I have supported for many years.

Since the costs of such a company would be passed directly on to the customers of this company, the taxpayer would obviously pay.

The aforementioned paper on “racial justice” by taking from some and giving to others describes several socialist political practices that the report calls “courageous.” These include medical debt forgiveness, student loan forgiveness, reparations, and children’s bonds.
