As part of the Integral Transformation Process, the National Police launched the “People-Oriented Police Service Model”, offering a re-engineering of the Direct Attention Commands (CAI), the epicenter of this new security strategy.
This new plan was launched simultaneously in 10 capitals, with the CAI Las Mercedes being the location chosen by the general director of the armed institution, William Salamanca, in Barranquilla. The purpose of this system is to manage coexistence based on three strategic lines: improving people’s inappropriate behavior by promoting civic values and civic culture; intervene in the causes of violence, crimes and behaviors that conflict with coexistence and, third, contribute to the construction of the social fabric.
