War in Ukraine, “Odessa cathedral destroyed”. invasion of russia

A new tragic event in a war that has lasted a year and a half. Ukraine accused the Russians of having “destroyed” the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odessa during the last night attacks: it is a monument protected by UNESCO, underlined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, guaranteeing that it is a “war crime that will never be forgotten or forgiven”. The overnight Russian blitz damaged at least six residential buildings, as well as the Transfiguration Cathedral, according to Ukraine’s Southern Operational Command. “Dozens of cars were destroyed, facades and roofs of many buildings in the city were damaged,” says a note on Telegram, which continues as follows: “Several craters formed in the city. There are power outages, which can disrupt traffic and the public transport route can be changed.”

In addition to the damage to things, there are also two dead and 22 injured. Among the injured are an 11-year-old, a 12-year-old and two 17-year-olds. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promised retaliation for Russian attacks on Odessa: “Missiles against peaceful cities, against residential buildings, a cathedral. There will certainly be retaliation against Russian terrorists for Odessa. They will hear this retaliation.”
