Ukraine and Zelensky dismiss regional recruiting chiefs en bloc

“We are firing all regional military commissioners. This system must be run by people who know exactly what war is and why cynicism and corruption during war is high treason.” This is what Volodymyr Zelensky announced at the end of the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council on control of territorial recruitment centers. Meanwhile, Kiev denounced new attacks by Moscow against Ukrainian civilians in the western region of Ivano-Frankivsk: in the last bombing, reports the Air Force in Telegram, “four Kinzhal hypersonic missiles were launched, of which only one was intercepted”. The other missiles hit an airfield, damaging infrastructure in a nearby residential area.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky today held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, during which he focused on the regional heads of Ukrainian military recruitment. He himself reported on this in Telegram, adding that it was decided to remove the regional army recruitment chiefs due to corruption. In Telegram, Zelensky wrote that in various departments “there are already 112 criminal cases against employees” and “in addition to 33 suspects”: The solution, for the Ukrainian president, was the dismissal en bloc.

“On the other hand, soldiers who have already left the front or who cannot stay in the trenches because they have lost their health, lost their limbs, but have maintained their dignity and lack cynicism, are the ones who can be trusted with this system.” Zelensky added.
