The Russian Armed Forces Mi-8 helicopter was intercepted by Ukrainian services as a result of an operation conducted by military intelligence.
According to Ukrainian Pravda, citing senior sources within the Ukrainian special services, the operation lasted more than six months.
Ukrainian intelligence lured a Mi-8 AMTSz pilot to Ukraine while the helicopter crew flew between two air bases and carried parts for Su-27 and Su-30 fighters.
In addition to the pilot, there were two crew members on board who did not know where the helicopter was actually going. Mi-8 landed in the Kharkov region.

As a result of the special operation, two crew members were eliminated and the pilot and his family, who were previously deported from Russia, are already in Ukraine.
In this way, the Armed Forces of Ukraine took over not only the helicopter, which had already been transported to Kiev, but also the combat components it carried.
The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (HUR), Andriy Yusov, confirmed the reports of the capture of the helicopter, but gave no details and explained that all relevant information would be made public at a later date. .
“We have to wait a little longer. Most of the work is done with the crew. Everything is fine, said Yusov.
