Tragic plane crash in Ukraine: On Friday, August 25, 2023, three air force pilots, including a senior officer, were killed in a collision between Ukrainian planes. The accident occurred in the Zhytomyr region in the north of the country and involved two L-39 trainer jets. An investigation into the incident has been opened.
Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ignat said one of the deceased pilots, Andrii Pilshchykov, known by the alias ‘Juice’, was a young officer with “superknowledge and great talent”. This event came just days after the Dutch and Danish decision to supply F-16 aircraft to Kiev in order to strengthen their fleet and continue the offensive against the Russian army.
“Andrii Pilschykov devoted his short but bright life to combat aviation – added the spokesman – dreamed of seeing F-16s over Ukraine”.
