The politicians of the CDU and SPD necessarily want to push Germany with even more immigrants. The protests of the local population came to nothing. A center will be built in Upahl.
The portal jungefreiheit.de writes about the case of the town of Upahl in northern Germany.
The people of Upahl protested
This small village in Mecklenburg was previously inhabited by 500 people. By decision of the CDU and SPD politicians, a center for immigrants should be built there. According to the plan, 250 foreigners will be sent there.
The population of Upahl has been protesting for months against the construction of the center, but to no avail. The district administrative court rejected their complaint. Accordingly, the planned center in Upahl will be built by decision of the local political authorities. Originally, 400 immigrants were supposed to live in the facility, but this number was eventually reduced.
More immigrants
The court ruled that the construction of the center was necessary and urgent because the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern did not have adequate infrastructure for immigrants. Upahl residents are considering appealing the decision to a higher court. However, this will not stop the construction of the center and immigrants will be able to take up residence there. The resort consists of living containers. The first of these are already in place.
The center is expected to be fully operational by the end of September. As jungfreiheit.de points out, there isn’t even a shop in Upahl. However, politicians decided that more buses would be sent under the containers so that immigrants could go to nearby Grevesmühlen for shopping.
