Fighter plane disappeared in the air

An $80 million jewel that literally disappeared. “If you have information that could help our rescue teams locate the F-35, please call the base defense operations center.” Joint Base Charleston wrote this on X (formerly Twitter).

There was no further news on Sunday afternoon about a hypertechnological fighter jet that literally ‘disappeared’, i.e. has ‘stealth’ capabilities that are much harder for radars to detect.

The troubles began over South Carolina with what military officials called an “accident” that led to the pilot being ejected from the plane Sunday afternoon. The man survived, but the military faced another problem: they cannot find the plane.

Base officials are searching for him in coordination with federal aviation authorities, and their attention is focused around two lakes north of the city of Charleston. Military aircraft produced by Lockheed Martin cost approximately $80 million each.
