Putin, who entrusts a corps of volunteers. Prigozhin’s shadow returns

Following the June 24 coup attempt and, two months later, the death of the founder of the mercenary troops, Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin, there are signs of the brigade’s former fighters returning to the battlefield in Ukraine. This was released and confirmed by British Defense Intelligence: “Wagner withdrew from combat operations in Ukraine in early June 2023, prior to the failed mutiny of 24 June 2023 and the subsequent death of Wagner owner Yevgeny Prigozhin , and other leaders in a plane crash on August 23, 2023,” says the update on the situation in Ukraine.

The exact status of the personnel who were transferred is still unclear, but it is very likely that the fighters were transferred within the official forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense and to other pro-Russian forces. Now, however, according to the latest news, the Russian president has asked Andrei Troshev, former right-hand man of the late patron of the Wagner group, to form a corps of volunteers to send to fight in Ukraine. This is what we read in a statement released by the Kremlin.
