Pentagon money for Ukraine is running out. This is supported by the Wall Street Journal, which speaks of five billion dollars remaining in American defense coffers to guarantee weapons and security assistance to Ukraine, following Congress’s decision to pass an emergency shutdown savings measure in which no Money intended for Kiev to fight the war with Russia were included. In practice, the available aid is enough to cover just six months and is equivalent to 12 percent of the total 43.9 billion that the United States has made available since Moscow invaded Ukraine in February last year.
But the alarm over the accounts doesn’t worry the White House and Joe Biden much. “We have been in contact with our allies and this will continue. We want to continue to support Ukraine and we want to see funding approved in a bipartisan manner. We will continue to help Ukrainians as long as necessary,” explained White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre during the daily briefing. The most extremist wing of the Republican Party is putting Volodymyr Zelensky and his followers in trouble.
