A petition started by a friend of the Ward family to strip Marsh’s parental rights has garnered more than 130,000 signatures and prompted politicians to question the rules on the issue. The response came as part of the Victims and Prisoners Bill introduced by Justice Minister Alex Chalk: “Jade Ward’s case and her family’s campaign to act have exposed an injustice in our system, ‘an injustice we are determined to put right’,” Chalk said.
