He flew from 40 meters and was saved by his boss’s call

He was saved by his boss’s call. This is the reality experienced by a young 22-year-old Belgian who set out to climb alone near Campan in the French Hautes Pyrenees on Tuesday, October 3. According to local news site France Bleu, during the journey, the young man fell from a height of 40 meters and remained unconscious all night. The next day, his employer became concerned about his absence and called him on his mobile phone at 8 am.

Thanks to the ringing phone, the child was able to wake up and answer. At this point the owner advised him to call emergency services. Shortly after, the Pierrefitte-Nestalas helicopter arrived at the scene of the accident and picked up the climber and took him to Pau hospital. Doctors found various physical traumas. The young man was also in hypothermia after going out at night, but he is no longer in danger. Emergency services did not hesitate to talk about a “miraculous” situation. Without this call, the child would not have survived.

Passion for mountains interests more and more people, but people are not always ready to engage in certain types of excursions. A number of accidents have been reported this summer both in Italy and across Europe, involving both amateurs and regular visitors to the summits. To prevent accidents and trauma, experts remind us of the importance of having appropriate equipment, checking weather forecasts in advance, and avoiding solo climbs, preferably moving in small groups.
