Parliamentary elections. An important appeal from the Polish embassy in the Netherlands

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in the Netherlands has recommended that Poles consider registering to vote in electoral commissions in Belgium or Germany.

The Polish Embassy in The Hague sent a recommendation to Polish citizens who decided to participate in the parliamentary elections on October 15 and registered with the electoral commissions in the Netherlands to consider the possibility of changing the electoral commission to another one in Belgium or Germany. This prevents possible queues when voting.

“We would like to remind you of the possibility to register (or register) for electoral commissions outside the Netherlands – in Germany and Belgium. The commissions in Aachen, Kleve and Emmerich on the Rhine (Germany) and the commissions in Antwerp and Brussels (Belgium) are located on the border with the Netherlands,” we read in the statement of the Consular and Polish Diaspora section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in The Hague.

“When deciding on the selection of a committee, we recommend taking into account not only the travel options, but – in particular – the number of people who have already registered for a particular committee (queues for voting are very possible!).For each committee, the The number of people already registered is given,” the report said.

Elections. New voting circuits abroad

On September 30, provisions amending the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ regulations on voting circuits abroad entered into force.

“The amendment creates new voting circuits in those consular districts where it is justified due to the increased interest of voters in participating in the lists drawn up by consuls. Additional voting circuits will be created in: Amsterdam, Lisbon, Hamburg, Dortmund, Stuttgart, Zurich, Bedford and Manchester,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

As a result of the change, the global number of polling stations for this year’s elections and national referendum will increase to 410, an increase of almost 30%. higher than in the 2019 parliamentary elections.
