The pastor of the Nuestra Señora de La Asunción Church was arrested hours after he referred in the homily of the Blessed Sacrament to the arrests of religious belonging to the Estelí diocese, warning that it “has no more priests.”
“We have no priests. We ask our good pastor for abundant vocations and that they may be in their parishes,” the priest said in the homily, warning that “without priests a people is spiritually dead. May God bless Nicaragua and bless it always.”

“There was a rumor going around wherever they took me. The truth is that we already know that it could hit us at any moment, but we have peace and a clear conscience,” he noted.
