It is rare for Palestinian militants to cross into Israel from Gaza, which is isolated and heavily guarded by the Israeli army. But that’s exactly what happened this Saturday when Hamas launched a massive attack on Israel. In parallel with the barrage of rockets fired from Gaza, Hamas fighters managed to infiltrate Israeli territory “by land, sea and air,” according to a spokesman for the Tel Aviv army. Even motorized hang gliders.
There are numerous videos on social media showing alleged Hamas militants flying over Israeli checkpoints in hang gliders.

Hamas indirectly confirmed this method by publishing images of its fighters receiving paragliding training.

Various images and statements also refer to militants on motorcycles and pickup trucks breaking through the barriers separating the Strip from Israeli territory. But seaborne attacks appear to have been less successful: the Tel Aviv navy claims to have killed “dozens” of Hamas militants trying to reach Israel in rubber boats.
