Russia has transferred weapons acquired in Ukraine to Hamas and is preparing a large-scale provocation, the Ukrainian Military Intelligence Service (HUR) says.
On Saturday morning, Hamas launched a military operation against Israel with rocket attacks and militias attacking civilians in border areas. Palestinian armed groups have invaded more than two dozen cities, killing hundreds of Israeli civilians and officials, injuring thousands and taking an unknown number as hostages to the Gaza Strip.
In response to the attack, Israel launched a campaign of airstrikes on Hamas-related targets and announced the partial mobilization of reservists. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country was in a state of war.
HUR: Russia gave Hamas western weapons
According to Ukrainian military intelligence, the Russians supplied Hamas fighters with weapons manufactured in the United States and the European Union and captured during hostilities in Ukraine.
HUR says Moscow’s next step will be to falsely accuse the Ukrainian military of allegedly regularly selling Western weapons to terrorists.
“Another enemy provocation is aimed at discrediting the armed forces of Ukraine and completely cutting off military assistance to our country from Western allies,” the Ukrainian intelligence service stressed.
Medvedev: NATO weapons supplied to Ukraine are used from Israel
Russia has already started spreading information about alleged support for Hamas, not only by Ukraine, but also by the West. “Well, my NATO friends, there you have it, right? Weapons supplied to the neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine are widely used in Israel,” Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to him, these weapons, “just like those left behind by US troops fleeing Afghanistan”, will be used “in an uncontrolled manner”.
Medvedev also stated that previously “the corrupt Ukrainian authorities were in the habit of trading everything they could get their hands on.” “They stole gas and oil, food and materials. They stole everything they found. It will only get worse. It is expected that missiles, tanks and planes from Kiev will soon appear on the black market,” he wrote.
President Duda: The attack on Israel is to Russia’s advantage
The Ministry of Defense in Kiev insists that Ukrainians could not transfer weapons to Hamas fighters because the West closely monitors the military equipment supplied to Ukraine to defend against the Russian invasion.
President Andrzej Duda said Hamas’ attack on Israel is to Russia’s advantage because it distracts the world’s attention from Moscow’s aggression against Ukraine.
