Israel responded to today’s Hezbollah attack by bombing towns in southern Lebanon.
Israel was hit by anti-tank missiles fired from Lebanese territory, the Israeli army said. Hezbollah terrorists have already claimed responsibility for the attack. As reported, the shelling was in response to Israeli attacks that killed three of the organization’s fighters.
Now Israel has decided to respond. However, it is not known how many people were injured in the attack.
Attack from Syrian territory
On Wednesday morning, the Israeli army reported that several rockets were also fired into Israel from Syrian territory.
“A number of rockets were identified as being fired from Syria into Israeli territory. Some of them entered Israeli territory and probably fell into open space,” the Israeli army reported on Telegram.
The military said the Israeli side responded with artillery and mortar attacks on the site from where the rockets were fired into Syria.
Hamas attack
Massive military operations against Israel began on Saturday. It started with a rocket attack, after which Hamas militias invaded Israeli territory in many places and attacked more than twenty cities. For this purpose, use was made of, among other things: paragliders and underground tunnels. The victims were Israeli citizens and officials. According to estimates, the militants took about 100 hostages.
Prime Minister Netanyahu announced that the country was in a state of war, and the Foreign Minister said that Israel would completely blockade the Gaza Strip.
Israeli forces have recaptured all settlements captured by Hamas, but fighting with the militants continues. In addition, Israel announced the mobilization of 300,000 conscripts who find themselves in a combat zone. It is therefore possible that there will be a land operation in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas is a radical Islamic organization whose main goal is the liberation of Palestine from Israeli occupation. The armed branch of Hamas is the al-Qassam Brigades.
