“The reduction is due to the heavy bombardment in recent hours that damaged the international lines connecting Gaza and caused them to be put out of service,” the company confirmed in a statement.
Paltel, the only operator providing services in the enclave, explained that the absolute telecommunications blackout is due to the “continued Israeli aggression and which is also affected by the damage suffered by the attacks of recent days on the communications lines.
Paltel’s confirmation comes shortly after numerous users on the networks started warning the impossibility of establishing communication within the Strip.
The total communications blackout comes shortly after the Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari, have announced that they will expand ground operations within the enclave in parallel with the intensification of bombing.
“The Israeli army is working intensively in all dimensions to achieve the objectives of the war,” he added, marking 20 days of fire in the Gaza Strip, where intense Israeli bombardments have claimed the lives of more than 7,300 Gazans and destroyed extensive civilian infrastructure.
The Palestinian Red Crescent warned that it has “completely” lost contact with its operations room in the enclave and all its teams working there, and accused Israel of “cutting off all fixed, mobile and internet communications.”
