The search continues for the suspect in the Maine shooting

This was reported during a press conference by Mike Sauschuck, commissioner of the Maine Department of Public Safety. Divers, underwater robots and sonars will be used to search for “possible bodies” in the Androscoggin River area near the municipality of Lisbon.

“This does not mean that we know that the suspect is in the water. What I’m saying is you’re going to see a lot of activity here,” said Sauschuck, explaining that more than half a thousand messages have been received since the event took place. “hints and hints” that come ‘from the general public, from different communities’.

The vehicle of the possible perpetrator of the shooting was located in Lisbon on Wednesday, about 12 kilometers from Lewiston, near a pier on the aforementioned river.

Sauschuck also confirmed that a letter was found in recent hours at one of the addresses registered to Card. “There was a note in one of these homes,” but “I’m not prepared to discuss its contents,” he said.

The FBI has set up a website where citizens can send any graphic documents they have about the tragedy, which has shocked Maine and Lewiston, the state’s second-largest city.

In addition, statements have been received from more than seventy witnesses who witnessed what happened on Wednesday evening at the Spare Time Recreation bowling alley, where a bowling tournament for the deaf took place, and at the Schemengees restaurant bar, a few minutes away.

Card, a 40-year-old reserve soldier with a history of mental problems who is armed and dangerous, stormed into both places.

Sauschuck confirmed that the petition was sent to the people of protect themselves in their homes and which is currently in effect for Lewiston, Auburn, Lisbon and Bowdoin, where on Thursday police and members of SWAT, the FBI Special Operations Team, registered several addresses linked to Card.

Audio warnings were even issued asking Card to come out with his hands up, an action that is part of protocol, Sauschuck explained.
